Newborn Baby

Every new parent should consider hiring a postpartum doula to help them as they go through one of the biggest transitions of their lives. Postpartum doulas offer physical and emotional support, as well as education. Mothers can focus on healing, learning too breastfeed and take care of their baby, and resting, while knowing that someone experienced is there to support and guide them through every step.

Day time and night time shifts may look different since overnight shifts are meant to help prioritize your sleep.

“During those early months postpartum, using Lauren’s doula service was a lifesaver. Her expertise in postpartum recovery, workouts, and nutrition was spot on and tailored to my needs. Her unwavering support truly stood out. She'd watch the baby while I caught up on sleep and even pitched in with dishes and laundry to help us keep up with the never-ending chore list. Lauren's non-judgmental approach made me feel understood and supported, easing the overwhelm of new parenthood. I'd recommend her to any new parent without hesitation!”

“The love and comfort Lauren provided for our family in the process of adjustment going from 1 to 2 little kids was everything we needed! My toddler will constantly ask when is Lauren coming back! Going from newborn care, to entertain my toddler, and to baking the most delicious goodies and nutritional meals for this breastfeeding mama. Can’t recommend her enough!”

When Should I Book Support?

We strongly recommend that you reach out as soon as possible to discuss your potential needs and goals for postpartum care. Often, families are securing services in early-to-mid pregnancy.

My Baby Is Already Born! Am I Too Late?

Absolutely not! Babies can come expectedly or unexpectedly. For families who are open to working with us, we can discuss availability and plan to find a rhythm that works for you until consistent support can be worked into schedules.

Can I Meet You Before Beginning Support?

Most definitely! With every package, visits in-person or virtually at 36 weeks (or before care begins) will be scheduled. This is a great chance for your doula to spend time getting to know your family, learn more about your needs, answer your questions, and to help come up with a plan for caring for you all following birth.

How Will I Know How Much Support We Might Need?

We work with all families to meet their specific needs, and together, we’ll create a plan of care that feels supportive of every member of your family. This plan might include daytime support, overnight support, or a mixture of both! We can even help strategize with you on how frequently to schedule my visits balancing them with family and friend help, so that there are no large gaps in your care. Contact us and we’ll set up a time to learn more about your goals for postpartum, and to begin exploring what postpartum doula care might look like for your family.

What Does An Overnight Shift Look Like With A Postpartum Doula?

I would come in between 8pm-10pm and usually stay 8-9 hours and take baby. During that time when Im with baby, I would feed baby (if bottle fed) OR come get you when baby needs to eat. I would also do all the changing of diapers, burping, rocking and getting baby settled back to sleep so you as the parents can stay asleep all night OR go back to sleep right after breastfeeding. I would also do light tasks, EX: Cleaning bottles, pump parts, doing babies laundry, organizing/cleaning up nursery, dishes, cleaning up kitchen. The whole idea here is for me to watch/be with baby so you can sleep. Also if its a normal over night shift (not full awake care shift), I will also rest when I get all my tasks done.

What Does A Daytime Shift Look Like?

Very similar to the overnight shift BUT Im open to helping more with household tasks. BUT again the idea is to help you get rest and HEAL. So doing loud tasks would keep you from that. I would take baby, feed, changed and get baby settled back to sleep. Shifts range from 4 hours to 8 hours.
