When did your health journey start? I have always been into fitness. Grew up an athlete. But once I started college I didnt workout as much and ate whatever. When I became a coach 4 years ago I really started to look into my nutrition & became more consistent with my workouts…so 2011.
Was there a specific reason you first started? Not really. Like I said I was always in to fitness. But I got serious about it when I was a Jr in college and wanted to look & feel better.
What were some of the first steps that you took? Cleaning up my nutrition. Sticking to whole foods. And I was going to the gym but I started adding in Insanity.
What programs (if any) have you tried while getting healthy? Any favorites or least favorites? I have tried lots. Insanity was my first program. LiveFit by Jamie Eason was my first weight lifting program that made me fall in love with lifting. I have done P90x, p90x3, T25, 21 day fix, 21 day fix extreme, Body Beast.
What continues to motive you? I love being able to see what my body can do and how I can transform it. I also love food ALOT. So I like to workout so I can eat haha Not a really awesome reason but its the truth.
Any words of wisdom for the rest of us? Stay consistent with your workouts & keeping the 80/20 rule for your nutrition. Its about moderation not perfection. If you have a day that was bad. Thats okay! We are human. Just pick up the next day. Dont think you have to start all over. Its not about starting & finishing your journey. Its about creating a lifestyle with it which is continuously changing. So dont beat yourself up and just enjoy your journey. If you arent enjoying your workouts or the foods your eating you wont stick with it. So keep it fun & keep it simple, BUT stay consistent. <3
